How to Find a Certified Garment Manufacturer in India for International Export
Looking for a garment manufacturer in India with GOTS, WRAP and ISO certification? Here is what international buyers need to check before placing an order.

Sourcing garments from India is straightforward. Finding a manufacturer who can consistently deliver to international retail standards is not.
Most Indian garment manufacturers can produce. Fewer can produce to GOTS, WRAP, SMETA and ISO 9001:2015 standards simultaneously — which is what European and UK retail buyers now require as a baseline, not a bonus.
Here is what to verify before signing with any Indian garment manufacturer:
Certification stack — not just one, all of them
A manufacturer with only ISO certification covers quality management. It does not cover ethical labour practices (SMETA/Sedex), organic fabric sourcing (GOTS), responsible production (WRAP), or sustainable cotton (BCI). International buyers — particularly from the EU and UK — increasingly require the full stack. Ask for certificates, not claims.
Vertical integration — how much is actually in-house
Many manufacturers outsource embroidery, printing or washing to third parties. This creates quality control gaps and delivery delays that the manufacturer cannot control. Ask specifically: which processes happen inside your facility? A fully vertical manufacturer controls cutting, sewing, embroidery, printing, washing, finishing and packing under one roof.
Capacity versus your volume
A facility running 1,00,000 pcs per month handles your 5,000-piece order very differently than a 10,000 pcs/month facility does. Understand where your order sits in their production queue.
Sample turnaround before bulk commitment
Any credible manufacturer will offer sample development before bulk. If a manufacturer pushes you toward bulk without sampling, that is a red flag.
Malak Apparels Private Limited, based in Sector 63 Noida, holds ISO 9001:2015, GOTS, WRAP, SMETA/Sedex, BCI and Global Recycled Standard certification and operates a fully vertical facility with 380 machines and 1,00,000 pcs/month capacity.
